Dear Arlington friends and neighbors,


Mha Puja marks the New Year according to the Nepal Sambat calendar, celebrated by the Newah community, the indigenous people of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal.


This year, the Newah Organization of New England is hosting a celebration at Calvary Church in Arlington on Wednesday, October 22, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. The event will include the following:


  • Vibrant Manda Display (sacred circular diagrams representing the individual's connection to the universe)

  • Mha Puja (self purification)

  • Sagun and Sisapusa Ghalala (ceremonial presentations)

  • Scrumptious Newah Dinner

  • Cultural Program

5:00 - 9:00 PM

Calvary United Methodist Church, 300 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington


All are welcome!



($35 for adults, $20 for kids aged 2-10)
